How many times have you tried to recall a word or a rule, and suddenly, you remember it thanks to an apparently random detail? Maybe the image came to mind along with the explanation in a book, the context in which you heard it for the first time, or a key word that helped you understand it.
This happens because our memory does not work in isolation—it creates connections, links information, and makes it more accessible when we need it.
According to Norman Doidge, the brain can form new connections if stimulated correctly. Personally, I have experienced how this approach can transform learning: combining linguistic techniques with personal development strategies has revolutionized the way I learn and teach Spanish.
For example, in my classes, I use mind maps to organize vocabulary and spaced repetition to consolidate vocabulary in a lasting way.
Additionally, I use role-playing, a technique that simulates real-life situations to allow students to put their learning into practice, strengthening not only memory but also spontaneity and confidence in using the language. When a conversation is experienced emotionally and in a real context, the brain better associates words and expressions, making them more easily retrievable at the right moment.

Another key technique I use to strengthen confidence and promote autonomy is guided self-correction. Studies by Carol Dweck and other experts highlight the importance of developing a growth mindset, where every mistake is seen as an opportunity for improvement.
During lessons, if a previously studied topic comes up again and a mistake occurs, I stop and invite students to reflect on the word, verb, or last incorrect phrase.
I give them enough time to recognize the mistake on their own and reason out the correct version, intervening only with small hints if necessary, without directly providing the solution. It is
surprising to note that, in all these years of teaching, I have only had to correct a student directly once or twice, as in the vast majority of
cases, they successfully identify their mistake on their own.
This process not only reinforces linguistic awareness but also boosts confidence in one's own abilities, making learning a more active and rewarding experience.
If you are ready to invest in yourself and discover how the power of the brain, backed by scientific studies, can transform your ability to learn a language, then this is the perfect time to start.
Language + Growth is not just a teaching approach, but a path that will guide you to develop confidence, memory, and fluency, allowing you to overcome the barriers that have always held you back.
Through specific strategies and constant support, you will gain the tools to speak naturally, understand effortlessly, and experience the language authentically.
It is the key to reaching a new dimension of competence and awareness, with benefits that go far beyond studying Spanish, accompanying you through every challenge in your personal and professional journey.
